I feel your pain.. we too live almost an hour from IKEA and have been known to beg and plead with the IKEA staff for the display item if it was out of stock downstairs. It has worked a few times, and thus our friendship with IKEA stays intact (plus we couldn't live long without swedish meatballs, or fish balls) Their cafe is wonderful, though we were very disappointed when they stopped serving chicken marsala. I hope your chest of drawers comes back is stock quickly... Loved the IKEA posts!

We have furniture from IKEA - all through good simple experiences - totally by good organising by my wife... She does the in straight to where thngs are we need - all sorted online before we go - including little tip here: if in stock. One thing I can say is the kids play area there is fantastic - even on a Saturday :) If need something picked up - happy to help! But maybe not to help put together - that bit would be for you and is for relationship building with your wife! That’s gold!
